System
- Glibc-2.20 - Important Update
- This is battleshooter's 'glibc-2.20-upgrade' which he originally put together a few years ago for people running Racy, Wary & Carolina who wanted to run the latest Chrome/Chromium. Mike Walsh picked out the relevant bits and packaged them up in a tarball, along with instructions, because they need to be installed in a specific order. Mike's advice, "I can't recommend this highly enough, because it makes using a lot of newer packages possible." Download (74Mb)
- gsmartcontrol-0.8.5-i386.pet
- GSmartControl is a hard drive testing program that can run self-tests on a hard drive as well as view its SMART (Self-Monitoring, Analysis and Reporting Technology) to monitor its overall health. Basically, it lets you know if your HDD is about to go recycling centre.
- lxtask-0.1.pet
- LXTask is the standard task manager and system monitor of LXDE and is extremely lightweight. To remove an unresponsive application, it is recommended to first try Term or Kill to see if the application can respond.
- p910nd_print_server-0.97.3.pet
- P910nd is a simple network print server. You can use it instead of CUPS or Samba to share an attached printer with both Linux and Windows clients. More information available on the forum.
- Puppy Package Manager 2 (ppm_auto-2.pet)
- This package really 'upgrades' Racy in a major way. It's v2.0 of the PPM, with the new, modern interface as pioneered in Tahrpup, and used by every Woof-CE built Puppy.
- Racy-LogOutGUI_upgrade-1.0.pet
- Upgrade package for Racy, to give her the modern-look LogOut GUI from the newer Puppies. Just download it; install it, open terminal type 'fixmenus' (without the brackets) and restart JWM. It's there the next time you Log Out.
- RedShift
- RedShift turns your monitor to a warmer, reddish hue during the hours of darkness. Research has shown that the blue-white light emitted by computer monitors tends to adversely affect your sleep patterns. Reddish light, on the other hand, does not, and your sleep should be as restful as usual. More information on the forum post.
- sfs_load-2.4.pet
- This is a must for anybody who wants to run Racy as a day-to-day Puppy, it's Shinobar's 'SFS load-on-the-fly' package. Racy doesn't come with this, and everything has to be organised via the BootManager, along with constant re-booting to activate/load things.
- xkbconfigmanager-1.0.pet
- An invaluable package from Puppy 2 that allows the configuration of your keyboard in more ways than you thought possible.
